Overview

This is not a trip designed to see everything: it is a journey created to experience Crete in the right way.

We move slowly, crossing the island from west to east, following a rhythm that alternates intensity and stillness, exploration and space. There are no rushed schedules, no crowded itineraries, no need to “tick boxes”. Instead, there is time to look, to breathe, to feel.

We begin in the west, where Crete reveals its raw beauty. At first light, we reach Balos, before the island wakes up. The landscape is almost unreal: shallow turquoise waters, white sand, silence. We don’t stay long. We never do when something is perfect. We move on, carrying that moment with us.

Later, the sea becomes something else entirely. Not something to observe, but something to enter. A boat takes us beyond the obvious, away from the accessible coastline, into hidden coves and open water. No crowds, no noise — just space and the quiet rhythm of the Mediterranean.

Then, the island changes! We leave the coast behind and cross Crete towards its heart. A different landscape emerges: drier, more essential, almost untouched. From Heraklion, we leave the asphalt and follow a guide into the Asterousia Mountains. The road disappears, replaced by dust, stone, and vast horizons. Along the way, we stop by the sea again, but this time it feels different. More remote. More earned.

By the end of the day, we reach a place that feels suspended in time. A small mountain village, far from everything. Here, there is nothing to do… and that is exactly the point. Dinner is simple, the air is quiet, and the night comes without distractions. The following day is intentionally slow. No alarms, no plans. Just the space to absorb what has been experienced.

In the final part of the journey, we arrive in the east. The atmosphere softens. The sea is calmer, the pace more relaxed. There is time to choose to explore further, or to simply stay. Some may decide to take a boat to Spinalonga, a small island marked by history. Others may prefer to remain by the water, enjoying the simplicity of the moment.

We come back together at the end. As always. Because this journey is not only about places: it is about how those places are experienced.

Schedule Details

Day 1 - Arrival & First Contact

The journey begins upon arrival in Crete. Participants make their way to the hotel just outside Chania, where the group gradually comes together and the atmosphere of the journey starts to take shape.

By the afternoon, everything is in place. The vehicles that will accompany us throughout the week are ready, and the first connections within the group begin to form naturally.

There is time to settle in, step outside, and experience the island for the first time — a walk by the sea, a swim, or simply a moment to slow down after the journey.

In the evening, we gather for our first dinner. This is where the journey truly begins: conversations flow, perspectives meet, and the group starts to find its rhythm.

Day 2 - Balos & Falassarna

We leave early, before the island fully wakes. Reaching Balos at first light allows us to experience it in a different way: quieter, softer, almost suspended. The landscape unfolds slowly: shallow turquoise waters, white sand, and a sense of space that is rarely found later in the day.

We stay just enough to take it in, without forcing the moment. As the day opens, we move along the coast towards Falassarna. Here, the rhythm shifts. The experience becomes more open — time by the sea, a long lunch, and the freedom to simply remain.

By late afternoon, we return to Chania, carrying with us the feeling of having experienced something rare, without ever rushing.

Day 3 - Boat Experience | Western Crete

Today, the island is experienced from the water. We reach the departure point along the western coast and leave the more accessible shoreline behind. The boat takes us further out, towards hidden coves and quieter stretches of sea.

The pace is unstructured but intentional. We stop where it feels right, swim, rest, and let the day unfold without needing to direct it.

This is not about covering distance, but about changing perspective — allowing the island to be seen from a different angle, more open and less defined.

In the afternoon, we return to Chania. The evening remains free, offering space to explore at your own pace, toghether with the group or by yourself, or... simply rest.

Day 4 - From Chania to Heraklion

We gradually leave the western side of Crete and begin our way across the island.

The drive follows the northern coastline, alternating open views and small towns. Along the way, we pause in Rethymno for a short stop: enough to walk, observe, and take in the atmosphere without turning it into a formal visit.

By mid-afternoon, we reach Heraklion. Later in the day, we visit Knossos. The approach remains light: a short, focused exploration of one of the island’s most significant historical sites, experienced without excess structure or pressure.

The evening is calm, allowing time to rest and prepare for the following day.

Day 5 - From Asterousia Mountains to Thalori

This is where the journey shifts. Leaving Heraklion behind, we move towards the southern part of the island, where the landscape becomes more essential and less defined. The road gradually gives way to rougher terrain, and the experience becomes more physical, more direct.

Following our guide, we cross the Asterousia Mountains along a route that alternates wide, open views with more intimate passages.

At a certain point, the sea reappears,  but in a completely different way. A remote beach offers the opportunity to pause, swim, and step outside of time for a while.

By late afternoon, we reach a small mountain village. At Thalori, the atmosphere changes again. The setting is simple and authentic, the pace slows, and the experience becomes quieter.

Dinner is shared, unhurried. The night arrives without distraction.

Day 6 - From Southern Coast to Elounda

The morning unfolds slowly in the village. There is time to remain, to walk, or simply to pause. The absence of urgency becomes part of the experience:  a moment to absorb what has been lived the day before.

Towards late morning, we begin our descent towards the southern coast of Crete. The landscape gradually opens, and the sea appears once again, different from the north, more direct, more exposed. We reach the area of Ierapetra, where we pause for a relaxed lunch by the water, allowing the journey to unfold without interruption.

In the afternoon, we continue towards the eastern side of the island. The atmosphere softens, the rhythm becomes lighter, and the final phase of the journey begins to take shape.

We arrive in Elounda later in the day, where the pace settles naturally into a more refined and relaxed setting.

Day 7 - Elounda and Spinalonga

The final day is shaped by choice. Those who wish can take part in a boat excursion to Spinalonga, exploring an island marked by history and isolation. Others may prefer to remain in Elounda or visit nearby Agios Nikolaos, enjoying the sea, a long lunch, or simply the freedom of unstructured time.

Both paths belong equally to the journey. In the evening, we come back together for a final dinner. A moment to reconnect, share perspectives, and close the experience as a group.

Day 8 - Heraklion

The journey comes to a natural close. A short transfer brings us to Heraklion Airport. The departure is smooth and unforced, leaving space for the experience to settle.

What remains is not a sequence of places, but a series of moments, each one contributing to a journey that continues beyond the island itself.
